Covid update, but I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe
and Happy Christmas.
With the most recent escalated restrictions in England as a whole
and the Local Area, together with the potential virulence of the
Covid 19 Virus, Bishops Lydeard AFC have to inform you of the
following.
As from Today 24th December 2020, Bishops Lydeard AFC have made
the decision to suspend all Football and Football Fixtures for
all Teams of all age groups and genders.
This decision hasn’t been taken lightly, but we feel out of
respect and safety to the Players, Officials, Volunteers and all
of their families it will help protect people from unnecessary
group meetings which would have the potential to fuel the virus,
should any one person present unknowingly be infected.
Therefore we ask that your Competition, in turn, respects this
decision and declares all arranged Fixtures for Bishops Lydeard
AFC through January 2021 are postponed.
We aim to review the decision in the middle of January 2021 and
will make our decision based on whether the Virus has been
controlled to the extent that we feel it is safe to resume
playing. This will, of course, also be influenced by any further
Government restrictions that may come in to play in the meantime.
